3 Easy Steps to Making a Poster on Your iPhone
Yes it can be done, you can make a full poster on your iPhone in a matter of minutes. When I first got my iPhone, I was blown away by all the possibilities I had in the palm of my hand. Yes mobile devices still lag behind full desktops apps, such as adobe Photoshop or InDesign, but the gap is shrinking with each iterations of new mobile advances. I will share with you 3 easy steps to create a poster with your iPhone for personal or business use:
1. Take a Few Photos or Screen Shots
Simply take a few pictures with your iPhone. I use a great photo app called Camera+ (not to be confused with camera plus). After I take a picture, I will use this app to edit, crop, and colour correct the image. Adding a simple filter or effect can go a long way to improve the image, but be careful not to overdo it with the filter. If you want some more advanced corrections, such as exposure and temp-balance, I would suggest the photo app, Afterlight. Afterlight is a relatively new app that has many useful editing features. Other great apps are Pixelmator and the Lightroom mobile app, all with their own unique features.
2. Add Pictures to the app PicFrame
There's many multiple pic frame apps in the App Store - where you can combine images into a collection of frames. The app PicFrame is a great one I use. I think collecting your images this way, offers a great complete look to your finished poster. After you have added all the images you have just edited in Camera+ or Afterlight, export this multiple frame pic to your iPhone's photo app.
3. Add tittles and theme using the Phoster app.
Now the fun part - actually creating the poster. I use the app Phoster, which can be purchased for a couple bucks in the App Store, but there's free alternatives out there. Import your multiple frame picture you just created with PicFrame. You may just want to center this image in your poster. Then add tittles, which can be created by clicking, dragging, and writing in text. After this you have a complete poster, that you can post to your social media accounts or simple just save for later. This whole process can easily be finished in 5 minutes. Just make sure you save your work as you work through the process. Another great iPad tool is Typic!
