Use Read Later to Save Time on Your Business Posts
If you want a better way to come up with quality content online, but don't always have the time to do the research, then the 'read later' feature is your new best friend. The read later is a relatively new feature within many programs, such as Twitter clients, internet browsers, and within other apps.
Basically what read later allows you to do, is what it implies, read the article or website later. But why does this matter you might ask? Well, this comes in very handy when you're casually browsing twitter or the internet, and you come across useful articles for your blog. For the tech savvy or Gen Y's amongst us, we might even do this while multitasking or just relaxing at home. You can then read these articles later online or offline in a more convenient form, i.e. like a newspaper. In other words, you can read these article striped down to just the print. Instapaper is great for this. Here are two ways to use the read later feature to maximise your blog content research:
1. First I would suggest you purchase Instapaper. Instapaper is a very well designed reader app that allows you to read your content into a stripped down form. This allows you to focus on the content without the distractions of pictures and ads (the app, Pocket, is also another great option)
2. Second I would purchase a quality twitter client such as Tweetbot or Twitterrific. They are two great twitter clients that allows you to link several read later services, such as Instapaper. Twitter is great to act as a personal news feed, so you can research content from businesses, people, and new outlets you follow. If you don't have the money to fork out, you can just get the free Twitter app.
3. Third, when you read through your twitter feed and find an article that you like but don't have the time to review, get in the practice of simply clicking 'read later'. After you have collected some articles and have the time, open up Instapaper, and focus on doing research for content.
4. Another option is using your reading list in the Safri browser. I occasionally use this feature both on my iDevices and Desktop. It can be found in your iOS toolbar, by clicking the share button and then clicking 'add to reading list'. This way, whenever you're surfing the internet and come across an article you enjoy, you can add it to your reading list. This automatically syncs with your iCloud, so you can review it on all your devices later. Instapaper can also be added to any browser as a bookmark, which will sync with the app. Check out how to set it up here.
I guarantee you, if you incorporate these few above suggestions, you will become much better at researching content, so that surfing through social media and across the internet is not such a chore, but becomes more of a seamless process that you have control over.
